Get your child used to organizing his or her workspace.

While your child is doing his homework, encourage him, help him, explain if he did not understand or forget something, but never replace his activity with your own.

If a child really needs to communicate with you, leave your business and deal with him.
Always consult with your child, regardless of their age.
Confess to your child the mistakes you have made toward him or her.
Apologize to your child when you are wrong.
Put yourself in the child’s place more often.
Avoid words and expressions in your speech that may hurt the child.
Try to resist children’s requests and tears, if you are sure that this is a whim, a passing whim.
Maintain composure, even if what the child did made you angry.
Show interest and attention to events in the life of the child, enjoy with him/her the successes, support in case of failure.
