Mathematics on your own. Where to start math 1st grade.

All it says is IMHO. Follow or not your personal decision. Remember: What helps some people may be useless to others and vice versa.

Every year around the beginning of May there is a barrage of calls. The end of the school year is coming and parents are beginning to realize that exams are coming up soon, and the lovely son of a four is depressed. And it is necessary to enter, and mathematics is a mandatory exam, and time is running out.

Mathematics on your own. Where to start.

Below I will tell you how to prepare better and pass the exam without much pain.

1) It’s better to start preparing in advance. It’s ideal from the beginning of the school year. In this case, I can immediately see what problems there are and can not hurry to disassemble missed topics and catch up with the lag. In this case, there will be a stock of time in case of illness, holidays, force majeure.

The number of lessons will still be approximately the same, but it will not be possible to “gnaw horses in the gallop”, and do not particularly tense.

For example. There is Vasya. 9th grade. In January, my mother calls – “Chet Vasya for a quarter of three barely came out. And before that, he passed everything on 4-5. Look what’s wrong – we have exams soon.”

We see, but Vasya hardly counts the multiplication table and does not remember the parabola chart. During the conversation, there are still gaps in the 6.7.8 class.

Approximately, with this arrangement, with you should study 4 times a week for 2 hours per lesson. 2 times algebra, 2 geometry.
January, February, March at this rate. April, 3 times, May, 2 times a week. Everything is approximately and depends in 1 turn on Vasi’s hard work. If you take the lessons, you get approximately 16×3 + 12 + 8 = 68 lessons x 500 rubles (average) = about 35 000 rubles. This is an average.

You can significantly reduce the cost of tutoring, if you take home (student) most of the work. Then you can already do it for about 30 lessons = 15,000 rubles. This is already a significant saving, and here I will try to help save a couple of rubles for parents/students. I will write below – how exactly.

Math 1st grade start

So, where do you want to start math 1st grade?

1) With simple actions. + and -, multiply and divide. Basics. “Correct” an executed example with an error of type 2+3=6 will not give us a correct answer.
It takes us 20-30 minutes daily. Repeat as long as there are 1-2 errors out of 100 at most. (-15+23, 14×6, 111:3 and so on)

2) Learning formulas. Without formulas nowhere. At the same time, training for memory.
The cost of time 20-30 minutes a day. It is necessary to know all areas, volumes, properties of the simplest figures (by geom.) All formulas of reduced multiplication, its own roots, degrees, graphs of functions, etc. by algebra.

3) The ability to apply it all in practice. And here we already need a tutor.

Mathematics on your own. Where to start.

If you have learned all the formulas, if you don’t make stupid mistakes in the multiplication table and when adding/subtracting, you can start to solve examples and tasks.
Define a topic you can’t figure out.
Invite a tutor – parse the topic/ several topics in the class.
Work through 5-10-20 examples at home until you fully understand the topic and fix the material. Shsat handbook math.

This is kind of understandable and logical, but 95% of the house does not do anything. That’s why it takes 60-70 lessons at least, sometimes more. As a matter of fact, if the person ZAINTERESOVAN is engaged and wants to learn mathematics, it will suffice to direct it only slightly and to explain the main gaps. Now there are enough materials on the Internet, both written (GDZ is the same) and video on YouTube. It is possible and without any tutors to sit down and understand, if there is already a knowledge base (1-6 class) Let’s assume this person very much I advise to all for acquaintance. Well and wisely explains everything, and what is important – for free! 🙂

That is, if you have a desire, you can learn everything by yourself. Looking at the sample and deciding on such examples. Gradually gaining a base and noticing regularities in solving certain problems. But! Even with a tutor – if you take the first steps on your own, and regularly do d / e, fixing independently passed material – you can save a tidy amount of money.

And what will happen if our Vasi’s mother calls in May? Practice shows that you need to do the same 40-50-60 lessons, but time is running out! And you have to either sweat for 4 hours every day for 6 days a week, or, more often than not, after a week of this kind of lessons Vasi sharply escalates all the pains (against the background of the fact that for the whole year he was lazy and not used to work hard with his head) + rehearsals for graduation at school + preparation for exams at school + parents realize that the lessons cost money and 6,000 a week it’s like a lot for the budget of the family. And Vasya technically dodges the lessons, joyfully continuing to do nothing. How to pass the exam in this case, I do not know, and not really interested in who pays who!

All in all:
1) Better to prepare in advance. The sooner, the better.
2) It is necessary to study. With or without a tutor, but it is necessary to study. Approximately 1.5 hours a day 5-6 days a week until a full “recovery”.
3) If you need a tutor, then MAXIMATELY prepare what you can. This will save you a lot of money.
